Innovation in foot health

We are pleased to announce that we will soon be offering 3D-printed insoles. This technology makes it possible to produce insoles in a highly sustainable way, using state-of-the-art materials. The more efficient manufacturing process helps us to help our customers faster while continuing to offer the highest comfort and quality.

How do we make insoles right now

Insoles are more than just an extra layer in our shoes - they are a source of comfort and support for our feet. From choosing the right material to customization, each insole is carefully designed to meet the needs of each individual foot.

In our pursuit of perfection, we work with our partner Leading Foot Technology in Nijverdal, the Netherlands, to manufacture our insoles. Their expertise and precision in grinding and milling guarantee first-class quality for our customers. But we are still able to make individual adjustments on location in Dübendorf and Winterthur, if necessary.

The beginning of an insole: modeling

Laufgsund's therapists play a crucial role in the production of our insoles. They model the insoles on the computer, using advanced technologies to create a precise digital image of the foot. Based on this, they can customize the insoles and integrate additional elements such as cushioning to meet the specific needs of each customer.

Our expertise allows us to tailor the elements and placement of the insoles precisely to the needs of each customer. Our orthopaedic technicians and podiatrists carefully select the materials, blanks and additional elements and place them exactly where they are needed to ensure maximum support and comfort. In this way, we ensure that each insole meets the highest quality standards and offer our customers optimum foot health.

Choosing the right blank

The basis of every insole is the blank. These come in different shapes, sizes and materials. The blanks are made of EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), a lightweight and durable material that provides good cushioning. Different material thicknesses can be used for even greater stability and support.

Choosing the right blank depends on several factors, including the wearer's foot type, the level of support required and the type of activity for which the insoles will be used. Careful analysis of the foot and gait pattern is the key to selecting the optimum insole.

The art of grinding and milling

An important step in the production of insoles is the grinding and milling of the blank to achieve the desired fit and support. This process requires precision and expertise to ensure that the insoles are perfectly matched to the wearer's foot.

At Leading Foot Technology in Nijverdal, this step is carried out using state-of-the-art machinery and under strict quality control. Each insole is customized to ensure an optimal fit and support. By working with experienced podiatrists and using high-quality materials, we can offer our customers insoles of the highest quality

The finishing touches on site

While the insoles are manufactured in the Netherlands, individual adjustments and precision work are carried out directly on site in Dübendorf and Winterthur. Here, our customers can try on their insoles in person and have any adjustments made to ensure they fit perfectly and offer maximum comfort.

Our experienced team is on hand to make individual adjustments and cater to the specific needs of each customer. Whether it's a small change to the fit or to improve support, we offer the ability to customize the insoles on the spot.

The first 3D-printed insoles are in use

What makes this 3D-printed insole so special? The advantages:

Innovation

INNOVATIVE

The insoles are printed with an advanced filament developed in collaboration with BASF (a leading chemical company). This filament ensures optimal cushioning and excellent quality of the insole. The printer uses our proprietary slicer software and we have designed the printer to be modular so that future developments can be easily integrated. The in-house developed slicer software offers a range of options to ensure that the printed inserts also look beautiful.

Nachhaltig

SUSTAINABLE

In 3D printing, only the required material is used, resulting in a very sustainable and environmentally friendly production method. In addition, the spools on which the filament is supplied can be recycled.

"The right thing for every step - with insoles of the highest quality!"
