Clinical case reports: 3D-printed insoles in practice

Our client Martina Vogel, elite athlete Jasper Hendriks and podiatrist Ellen Koelmans share their experiences with 3D-printed, custom-made insoles. Learn how they provide comfort, stability and optimal support – in everyday life, in sports and from a therapeutic perspective.

Martina's experience report

"Thanks to the 3D-printed insoles, I can easily work a full day on steep, uneven terrain without experiencing any foot pain. The custom-made insoles, combined with my La Sportiva hiking boots, provide optimal protection and stability. Even if my shoes get wet, the insoles dry quickly and without deforming.

Since I always wear wool socks and avoid synthetic fabrics, my feet don't usually sweat in my shoes. If my feet do get wet, I simply remove the insoles in the evening and let them air dry overnight, which works perfectly.

Thanks again for the fantastic insoles!"

Jasper Hendriks - Dutch Youth Champion in Sabre Fencing

“The insoles feel really great, offer good support, allow for more direct contact with the piste, and I also had fewer problems with sweaty feet,” said Dutch fencing champion Jasper Hendriks. He competed in the Junior European Fencing Championships in Turkey wearing the 3D-printed insoles. “On to the Junior World Championships in Wuxi, China!”

About Jasper

Jasper was born on June 1, 2005, in the Netherlands. When he watched the Olympic Games as a seven-year-old boy, his attention was drawn to the sport of fencing. His interest was sparked. About a year later, Jasper stepped onto the fencing strip for the first time and took his first steps towards his current career.

Our podiatrist Ellen Koelmans

“As a podiatrist, I deal with feet and a wide variety of treatment options every day – from custom orthotics to properly fitting shoes.

Since I often experience heel pain during longer walks, I tried the new 3D-printed insoles. The material feels comfortable and offers excellent stability. Compared to the milled insoles, which often took me a while to get used to, I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I adapted to the 3D-printed insoles. After only a short time, I was able to walk comfortably and pain-free again.”
